Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone!

I am getting so excited that mommy put me in my bouncy seat so I could get rid of some of my energy. I will be 7 weeks old Christmas Day but I already like my bouncy chair.
And it said 4+ months...Ha, yeah right!

Burrito Roll...

Can you believe what mommy and daddy do to me?! They wrap me up in a blanket (which is pretty cozy and warm) but then they have the nerve to call me a burrito roll! I used to not mind being "burrito roll-ed" so much when I was little, but now I AM BIG (I gained 2 lbs in 2 weeks making me 10 lbs 8 oz!) and I do NOT want to be rolled up and referred to as a stuffed taco! Tomorrow I will be five weeks old and I would prefer to go to sleep in my "sleep sack pajamas" that my grandma Jane bought for me...I want my burrito roll days to be over!

Hopefully mommy and daddy read my blog soon so
I don't have to look like this anymore....

Yeah, I do look pretty content but I was only
4 weeks old in this picture and now I am five...

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving (a little late) everyone! Sorry I haven't told you about my first Thanksgiving yet...I've been too busy keeping mommy & daddy awake making them feed me, change me, entertain me, clean my bottles & letting them give me lots of hugs and kisses!

My first Thanksgiving was awesome! For a couple of days leading up to Turkey day I got to watch mommy and daddy cook some food that smelled really good (can't wait to try some next year!) and I went to Church for the first time on Thanksgiving eve and really enjoyed listening to the brass band and everyone singing hymns. On Thanksgiving day after some more cooking, mommy, daddy and my brother Jukka went to great grandpa's house and I got to meet him in person for the first time!
I slept through appetizers and most of dinner but woke up a bit to let my Great Aunt Helen hold me. She is such a gentle and loving lady. Mommy told me that she is my great grandma's sister. I wish I could have met my great grandma (mommy said I would have loved her and wrapped myself around her soft finger) but she is in heaven... I may have seen her there because mommy always tells me that I am a miracle sent from heaven!

Not only was this my first Thanksgiving but my first huge snowfall too! There was so much snow that it took us an hour to drive home! Wow- what an adventure! I am thankful that daddy is a good driver and mommy bundled me up with warm blankets!

Thanksgiving was fun and I can't wait for next year when maybe I can help cook some food, play in the snow with my family and taste some of the yummy food!

I'm here!

Hi everyone!

I thought things were going great when mommy went to the hospital and they told her she was already at 5cm. Poor mommy had to wait forever to get any pain medicine and by the time she got an epidural she was around 7 to 8cm. She finally got to the point of pushing and we both thought it wouldn't be long but after 3 hours of pushing and very little progress, mommy's temp was rising and my heart rate was going way up (not to mention that I had a bm so when the doctor broke mommy's water there was a ton of meconium which the doctor was worried about), mommy had to have a c-section so I could come out. Well, come to find out I was just way too big to get out of mommy any other way...I was a really healthy 9lbs 4oz! I am really sorry mommy had to have surgery. The boob milk lady (lactation consultant) said it may have played a part in why I don't latch on when she tries to feed me. Not to mention mommy doesn't have the ideal anatomy for me and my tongue moves around too much in my mouth. That's why I lost 14oz in the first 6 days of my life. But mommy is pumping milk for me now and I am on my way back up to my birth weight, my cheeks are plumping back up and I am a happy healthy boy!
